Pathway to Purpose Youth Inc. is seeking caring mentors committed volunteers to support middle and high school students through mentorship, academic encouragement, and life-skills development. Our mentors help students build confidence, set goals, and make positive choices for their future.

Why Volunteer as a Mentor or a Support Staff

Who We Serve

  • Middle School Students (Grades 7–8) Must be 13 to participate – Focus on confidence, behavior, goal setting, and study habits

  • High School Students (Grades 9–12) – Focus on leadership, career exploration, post-secondary readiness, and life skills

Volunteer Roles

Volunteers may support students by:

  • Supporting sessions afterschool.

  • Supporting small-group discussions

  • Supporting the program on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursdays

  • Encouraging students with positive guidance and accountability

No prior Volunteer experience required training and resources are provided.

Mentors Roles

Mentors may support students by:

  • Help students with homework

  • Guides youth in building leadership skills, decision-making, communication and teamwork through group discussions and activities.

  • Mentoring on either Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursdays

  • Introduces youth to career pathways, college preparation, job readiness skills, and helps them explore future opportunities.

  • Provides encouragement, support, and guidance while helping youth build confidence, self-esteem, and a positive mindset

No prior Mentoring experience required training and resources are provided.

Time Commitment

  • Flexible options available

  • Typical commitment: 1 day per week or once bi-weekly during program cycles for mentoring (45 min- 60 min)

  • Volunteering: Can be between 1-3 days a week from 4pm-6pm

Who Can Volunteer?

  • Working professionals

  • Retirees

  • Community leaders

  • Educators and youth advocates

Volunteers must:

  • Be 18 years or older

  • Complete a mentor application

  • Be willing if asked to pass a background check

  • Meet with me to go over the program and what’s expected

What You’ll Receive

  • Mentor support and frequent check-ins

  • Structured flow and open to your lessons as a option

  • Ongoing staff communication

  • Certificate of service (upon request)
